Becoming a hockey official is a great way to stay involved in the game, build confidence and leadership skills, and earn some extra money along the way!

Indus Minor Hockey is part of the Chestermere Indus Referee Association (CIRA), which provides officiating opportunities for new and returning officials in the Indus and Chestermere areas. Whether you are putting on the stripes for the first time or returning for another season, there are opportunities for officials of all experience levels.

Hockey Alberta certifies local officials through a combination of online courses and in-person clinics.

Please remember that all officials must complete the appropriate Hockey Alberta certification or recertification requirements each season before they are eligible to officiate games.

CIRA is currently transitioning to a new website on TeamLinkt following the shutdown of GOALLINE. Once the new website is available, we will provide a link here.

For the 2026/2027 season, CIRA plans to host both Level 1 and Level 2 officiating clinics in September and October; however, dates have not yet been finalized. Tentative dates are below.

If you would like to complete your certification sooner, you are welcome to register for a clinic hosted by another association. Please refer to the Hockey Alberta Officials website above for available courses and registration information.
